The goal of this text is to provide students with an overall picture of physical fitness as it relates to health and wellness. Topics covered include cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, body composition, nutrition, and weight control. Specific resistance training exercises (free weight and machine) are included for the following muscle groups: chest, triceps, back, biceps, legs, calves, shoulders, and abdominals. Each exercise is supplemented with photographs detailing the correct procedure for that exercise.
