Contemporary Kinesiology
This new second edition is a seminal introduction to kinesiology because it is both contemporary and futuristic. While the first edition was the first introductory text to implement the 1989 decision of the American Academy of Physical Eduction to make "kinesiology" the one normally recognized descriptor for academic study of human movement. The second edition 1) responds to the recent concerns about fragmentation of the field through overspecialization and 2) places the study of human movement on a historical continuum from the traditions of the past into the future.
In today's marketplace, this is a qualitatively different text with a broad cross-disciplinary scope and professional mission.
