ENG 101 (Engineering at Illinois) is an introduction to undergraduate programs of study in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois and the potential careers of graduates of those programs.
This booklet is designed for students who may be interested in an engineering major and who wish to explore engineering careers or for students already in an engineering degree program who may be undeclared or are unsure of their current major and want a survey of all engineering majors.
This booklet is the product of listening to past ENG 101 students’ feedback and the questions that many prospective students have about the many different engineering majors. Questions, such as: what are the differences between the majors? How do I know if this major is for me? How do I know if I will like it? What classes will I take at Illinois? Which projects or activities can I be doing in this major? How multidisciplinary is this major? What kind of job will I get?
Past ENG 101 students truly helped shape this booklet in its current format and we hope you find the information for each department very useful.
